Sustainable literally means the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level like economic growth. Environmental sustainability means the avoidance of the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance. (Google/Oxford). At the end of 2024 I took an online course about Business and Sustainability through Oxford University. Sustainability includes the Earth and its people and how they need to be treated in a way that is sustainable.
UN-FAO 17SDGs
Sustainability is a fairly new topic in Business; consequently, I took an online course through Oxford University and their geography department, Pearson, at the end of 2024. Sustainability includes more than just the environment. It includes social and governance as well, in other words, it includes the Earth and its People. The document to the left is the UN-FAO 17SDGs that I compiled from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization's website. It is used as a base for Sustainability in Business along with the Net Zero Climate Change which refers to carbon dioxide emissions. Food Waste & Food Insecurtiy in Canada
A three part video series on Food Waste and Food Insecurity in Canada. We can decrease waste and increase Food Available to be redirected from the Waste that is already accumulating in the Food Produced in the Food Supply Chain in Canada. As of 2026, there are approximately 2.5 million people living in food insecurity and missing meals from a population estimated at 41.5 million people. This series is to bring awareness to food wasted and food insecurity in Canada. In Video One I introduce the formula Food Produced=Food Available + Food Wasted + Food Redirected. Video Two and Three look at solutions to reduce Food Wasted in the Food Supply Chain in Canada.
